RURBANIVE is helping bridge metropolitan research and EU policymaking. Recent events in Seville and the first Policy Recommendation Workshop highlighted how research, stakeholder engagement and policy dialogue can support integrated rural–urban development across Europe.
How can European policies better reflect the connections between rural and urban areas? And how can local experiences, research findings and emerging innovations be translated into practical policy recommendations? These questions were at the centre of the first RURBANIVE Policy Recommendation Workshop, held online on 26 May 2026.
The RURBANIVE project is pleased to host the first Policy Recommendation Workshop under its Forum series, marking the start of a structured co-creation process to develop actionable EU policy recommendations on rural–urban linkages.
The RURBANIVE Plenary Meeting took place on 20–21 April 2026 in Valladolid, Spain, hosted by CARTIF and organised in collaboration with project coordinator Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS). Bringing together all project partners in person, the meeting served as an important milestone to assess progress and align the next steps of implementation.
