Země živitelka (Earth, the breadwinner)
The exhibition and fair “Země živitelka” (“Earth, the breadwinner”) takes place every year in the city of České Budějovice, in the South of Czechia. The fair is aimed at agriculture and food processing, covering areas such as techniques, technologies, economics, policy, and rural development in a broader context. It is the largest fair focused on this topic in the Czech Republic, with a remarkable 51-year history.
This six-day event attracts a wide range of stakeholders from across the agricultural and food sectors. This year, the fair took place from 21 to 26 August 2025. Its popularity continues to grow steadily, with 129,396 visitors in 2024, compared to 111,886 in 2023.
Among the regular exhibitors is the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU), which once again participated in the fair and presented several of its research and innovation initiatives. As part of CZU’s presence, the RURBANIVE project was also featured at the university’s booth, offering visitors insight into its activities and objectives.
Booth at the Exhibition / Fair
The presentation of the RURBANIVE project was integrated into the booth of the Czech University of Life Sciences (Česká zemědělská univerzita). This booth appears at the exhibition every year, where each faculty of the CZU showcases its research focus and results. In 2025, the stand was located in pavilion T2.
At the booth, the RURBANIVE project poster was displayed for three days, while leaflets remained available until they were fully distributed to visitors. Both materials were designed to attract the attention of fair attendees and introduce them to the project’s mission and scope. The leaflet contained essential information about the project, along with references to its official web pages, where visitors could find more detailed content and updates.
Through this presence at Země živitelka, RURBANIVE contributed to raising awareness about rural-urban innovation, sustainable development, and the value of research collaboration in shaping the future of agriculture and food systems in Europe.
